Lead Business Systems Analyst
Dental, Life, Medical, Vision
Why Work Here?
“BEPC is a family oriented company, and we strive for customer satisfaction.”
The Business Analyst works under the direction of the Product Management group and in conjunction with U.S. leadership to help gather and define software requirements to meet the business needs of our customers. This role is critically important and serves as the product owner to drive multiple teams in the software development process, ensuring that we are building the right solutions at the right time. This role requires not only specific domain knowledge and understanding, but also technical acumen and understanding of complex hardware and software systems for the supply chain industry.
The Business Analyst is embedded with multiple SCRUM development teams. In this role, the team leans on this person to articulate details, prioritize and guide the development process and make sure all parties are working together to deliver the right solutions that the business expects. To achieve this, the BA must attend daily ‘stand-up’ ceremonies, planning sessions, grooming sessions, demos, and other collaborative meetings. Additionally, this person is always available via multiple modes of communication to answer important questions.
The Business Analyst (Project Analyst) must meet certain educational requirements in order to be effective in this role. Software development is a highly specialized field and requires a good understanding of not only system architecture but the inter-workings of software solutions and how they are designed to fit together. In the Supply Chain space specifically, the level of sophistication and integration with MHE (material handling equipment) and software capabilities demands a background in computer science or computer information systems. Without this level of education, the employee is not able to comprehend how these highly complex systems will fit together to run large, advanced distribution operations for our customers.
The knowledge required includes a clear understanding of things like:
• Event based architecture and micro services
• Database schemas and table structures
• Interface methodologies such as XML, delimited and socket protocols
• PLC and PC based machine control integration
• ASRS storage array systems
• Radio Frequency and Voice enabled devices
• Conveyance and sortation systems
