HP is currently seeking a Pricing Analyst/Data Scientist to join our team in San Diego, CA. Please read below and apply if you fill this position matches your skill set and career objectives.
As a Pricing Analyst/Data Scientist, you will join an industry-leading organization and work on developing tools and analytical models to identify optimal marketing, pricing and sales decisions for our Printing & Personal Systems business in the Americas. Working in the Pricing Strategy and Analytics team, you will develop innovative analytical approaches and tools enabling better insights to implement marketing and pricing guidelines for HP printers, PCs, tablets, etc. You will work closely with Product Management, Sales, and Finance teams to drive profitable growth.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
Very strong analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail; ability to perform data explorations from scratch and understand relationships between complex data sources
Thrives on working with data, including reporting, blending and processing with proficient knowledge on common applications such as Access, SQL, Alteryx and R/RStudio
Solid problem solving skills and systems thinking, being able to act independently on building analysis models and business cases
Capable of quickly interpreting analysis results and providing strategy recommendations, including presenting to senior leadership
Develop and implement frameworks and processes for systematic data analysis, as well as reporting capabilities to track key business performance metrics
2 years of experience in data analytics, database management or tool/process development
Strong understanding of data structures, data management and statistical methods, including experience validating data flows and preparing ETL processes according to business requirements
Ability to design reporting dashboards and knowledge of reporting software (e. g. Tableau, Qlikview, Microsoft PowerBI)
Strong presentation skills
Must be a team player, who is passionate and able to build strong relationships across different functions
University degree in engineering or quantitative science with advanced degree preferred
Advanced analytics experience in marketing/pricing is a plus
