American Specialty Health, Inc. is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst II to join our growing organization. The Business Intelligence Analyst II will be responsible for developing, implementing and supporting reporting, analytics and business intelligence solutions to meet the information needs of the organization and its clients. Provides consulting services to the business users and clients related to the use and management of data. Designs and maintains a library of reports to support client and internal operational needs. Serves as a lead team member by assisting with training and mentoring other BIAs on the team and serving as a liaison between the department and other members of cross functional teams in the organization.

Responsibilities

Analyzes, evaluates and documents data requests and business requirements of stakeholders to understand and prioritize requests appropriately.

Support existing, ad hoc, and scheduled reports as well as data analyses and summaries for various internal departments and external clients.

Conducts or coordinates quality tests to ensure that intelligence is consistent with the required needs.

Must be able to translate user non-technical requirements to existing data sources.

Develops custom reports using T-SQL and Reporting Services as well as standard Microsoft tools such as Excel.

Develop stored procedures and views to support custom reporting.

Maintains report requests, determines resource needs for requests and works with Manager to prioritize.

Documents business requirements in the form of specifications (operational and technical specifications) and obtains necessary input and approval.

Work with EDI team to post files to internal and external FTP sites.

Provide support for the development of a data warehouse.

Takes the lead in developing report layouts, processes for standard stored procedures, and technical documentation.

Develops and adheres to best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency in reporting.

Interviews and recommends the hiring of new staff members as required.

Designs and delivers training materials to team members.

Provides constructive feedback, and conducts counseling and training sessions as required.

Recommends and assists with implementing process improvement protocols aimed at enhancing data integrity and accuracy.

May lead or provide direction on the planning, designing, testing, and implementation of new reporting/analytic products/resources for the department.

Support client telephone calls to identify technical needs of reports and establish working relationships with client technical teams.

Demonstrates effective customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment and motivate and work through others to accomplish department activities.

Strategizes and maximizes the appropriate business resources to analyze, interpret, and deliver internal and external client data.

Address urgent concerns of clients in a timely, calm, and effective manner.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Business, or other related quantitative field required. Master’s degree in one of these fields is strongly preferred.

Minimum of 6 years of SQL report writing, business intelligence experience or statistical analysis.

Advanced proficiency in programs including, but not limited to, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet, MS Office, and Pivot Tables. Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Tableau, and creating dashboards are strongly preferred.

Demonstrated experience in a high volume report production environment including ad hoc, and custom requests is essential.

Advanced understanding of relational database architecture and business intelligence is required.

Extensive experience with developing and managing internal and external ad hoc and custom reporting requests.

Experience with ASH processes and systems a plus.
