Category Product Description Summary of Job eMDs is an expanding medical software company that provides an integrated suite of clinical and financial information management solutions for physician practices and groups. We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our team. Preferably this Business Analyst will also have experience working with medical practices or in a clinical setting. The Business Analyst works at a mid-level to translate business requirements into functional requirement specification documents and functional designs for electronic health record (EHR) and practice management software (PMS) applications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities \u2022 Conduct meetings and discussions to achieve consensus on product features and functionality. \u2022 Research the existing product and customer requests to determine the desired functionality for a new product line. \u2022 Create wireframes of proposed UI for the assigned modules. \u2022 Write functional specifications based on the research and meetings done for each module assigned. \u2022 Conduct review sessions of functional specifications to obtain approval from all necessary parties. \u2022 Support the approved functional specifications through the Design, Development and QA processes. \u2022 Communicates with high-level personnel; Sales, Senior Management, Support, Development, QA, and external customers, including Providers, Billing Staff, CEOs, CFOs, etc. \u2022 Organize and prioritize many high priority items, determine strategic goals. \u2022 Works directly with customers, research and write specifications based on their requests. Position Requirements Qualifications \u2022 Experience defining functional software requirements is preferable, but not required\u2022 Excellent written and verbal communication skills\u2022 Good analytical thinking skills \u2022 Good planning, organizing, decision-making and problem-solving skills \u2022 Good judgment skills \u2022 Ability to take initiative \u2022 Solid history of establishing and meeting work schedules with limited time frames and under tight deadlines\u2022 Ability to adhere to standards and procedures \u2022 Ability to organize material, analyze a wide variety of facts and develop appropriate recommendations\u2022 Strong grasp of technology and how it plays a role in business processes \u2022 Knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint\u2022 Ability to understand workflow within the PM system and EMR system\u2022 Ability to establish attainable goals, objectives, and work plans\u2022 Ability to multitask and adjust priorities in a busy and changing work environment\u2022 Excellent communication and customer service skills\u2022 Experience with prior EMRs\u2022 Experience with Agile methodology \u2022 Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision Education and\/or Experience Prior work experience in a medical practice environment is preferable, but not required or experience working in the software development life cycle.
