Support the overall category strategy and objectives established by VPDMM. Collaborate with a cross-functional team and vendor partners through the implementation of these strategies which includes functions ranging from clerical support to liaison with vendor partners.
Essential Job Functions:
The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Assist Merchandise Manager with executing the overall category strategic plan by providing administrative and other support as directed.
Support the Merchandising Manager in the negotiation of product costs and contract terms (including freight, “new item allowance”, etc.) with vendors to achieve sales and margin goals for assigned category.
Work with vendors and other CMO teams to maximize impact of promotions.
Assist in the selection and development of potential new products. Perform ad-hoc analysis of current internal trends and market factors to forecast the success of potential new products as directed.
Prepare Field and Operations communications for review by higher level staff to provide proper information on special issues/concerns.
Maintain Vendor Checkbook.
Prepare all Item Setup and Maintenance.
Responsible for accurate entry of information into appropriate databases.
Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with emphasis on company interests.
Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
Supervisory Responsibility: None
The majority of job duties are performed while seated indoors with little or no exposure to hazards. Travel to view vendor manufacturing facilities and distribution facilities may be necessary.','!*!Education and Experience:
An Associates’ degree is required with a Bachelor’s degree preferred. A minimum three years progressively responsible experience in a fast paced office environment including significant data entry is required. Previous retail experience is strongly preferred. Very strong MS Office skills including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook with the ability to learn internal menu driven applications are required. The ability to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis is required. Must have strong ability to manage multiple priorities and projects at the same time. Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills are required. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience can be substituted for a degree. ','Merchandise Analyst
